Lego Island Mod Roadmap 0.01
This first version of the mod will have three releases, each with a specific focus. While I will primarily concentrate on these focus areas, that doesn’t mean I won’t be working on other aspects of the game as well.
Version 0.01A (A for Advance)
This first release, which is already available, begins implementing everything mentioned in the description. However, I’ve also made a new discovery that I want to share.
I found out that the game has three different island models: low detail, medium detail, and high detail. By default, it runs on the medium-detail model, but I switched it to high detail. Unfortunately, this change is causing frequent random crashes when opening or closing the game, likely due to memory management issues. If the game doesn’t start, simply try reopening it.
Another occasional crash happens when opening the save file book. This is due to an outdated piece of code that worked in the past but doesn’t function well on modern computers. I plan to fix this later, but for now, it remains an issue.
Version 0.01B (B for Better)
In this version, I will focus on improving the game’s stability to prevent errors from piling up. However, I can’t guarantee complete stability until I fully rework the code, which will take a significant amount of time.
Version 0.01C (C for Color)
This version will focus on improving compatibility with images and textures, allowing for more colors, formats, and sizes. While this is the main goal, I don’t expect full compatibility just yet, as the game’s code is highly intertwined, making some changes quite complex.
